The aim of the International Conference on System Level Approaches to Neural Engineering (ICSLANE) is to bring together theoretical and experimental neuroscientists and roboticists to discuss the state of the art in the field of Neural Engineering. This three day long event is part of a series of training events organised by the Marie Curie Initial Training Network NETT (Neural Engineering Transformative Technologies). It will also provide young researchers with the opportunity to present their work.

Registration to the international conference 2015 is free of charge for NETT members; for students and researchers outside of the NETT consortium the conference fee will be 200 euros plus 50 euros for an optional conference dinner (see a 50% reduction fee for students below). We kindly ask every participant to fill the registration form here and then complete the payment (for not NETT members) with a bank transfer to the following account:

Special one day registration available:
It is now possible to register for the conference for one day only. To do this, it is enough to select the ticket option “One day admission NOT NETT members” on the registration website and then specify the preferred attendance day, either Monday the 21st or Tuesday the 22nd. The one day registration fee is only 80 euros and it is still possible to submit an abstract for a poster. All registrations are now closed.

Special registration grant for students presenting a poster:
PhD students whose abstract is accepted for a poster presentation, will receive a 100€ award as a contribute for their participation, thus reducing their registration fees to only 100€. When registering, PhD students submitting an abstract can proceed with the payment of 100€ and the eventual 50€ for the dinner; if the abstract will not be accepted by the scientific committee, they will pay the difference of 100€. Posters will be selected from half-page abstracts, which should be submitted by email to Please specify to which theme panel you are submitting your abstract. The required format for the posters is A0 size and portrait orientation.

Abstract submission for contributed talks.
It is also possible to submit half-page abstracts with the options of being selected as a contributed speaker. A scientific committee will select 3-4 contributed talks to be scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. Each talk will be between 10 and 15 minutes in length. If you want to be considered for this opportunity, please specify it when submitting the abstract.

  1. Flights to Barcelona[+]
    Barcelona’s El Prat airport is very well connected with European and worldwide areas. It takes less than half an hour to get from that airport to the city centre. There are city buses, airport AeroBus, trains and taxis available from the airport.
    An alternative destination is Girona airoport, from where buses go to Estació Nord in Barcelona (the journey takes about 1:30h).

    Barcelona has an excellent public transportation, with a wide metro network, and bus and trams connections.
